
The bacterial suspension of Bifidobacterium lactis BL03 elevates the intestinal contents of acetic acid, propionic acid and butyric acid in constipated mice. It normalizes the secretion of both excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters and significantly up‑regulates serum AQP3 expression. After intragastric administration of Bifidobacterium lactis BL03, the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes (F/B) ratio linked to obesity and constipation decreases in mouse intestines, alongside shifts in the relative abundance of bacteria positively correlated with AQP3 and negatively correlated with ET1 and SS.
BL03 reduces body weight by modulating the obesity‑related Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio. Meanwhile, it boosts internal nutrient metabolism and promotes intestinal evacuation. Bifidobacterium lactis BL03 achieves an adhesion count of (46.18±2.82) CFU/cell. The microencapsulated Bifidobacterium lactis BL03 has an encapsulation rate of 93.31%±3.16%. Its survival rate exceeds 80% after 2‑hour simulated gastric fluid treatment and reaches 75% after 4‑hour simulated intestinal fluid treatment. After 12‑month storage at 25 °C, the viable‑bacteria survival rate remains above 70%.
