Bifidobacterium bifidum CCFM167 Probiotic Raw Material Powder for Gut Health Supplements and Functional Food Manufacturing
Bifidobacterium bifidum CCFM167 Probiotic Raw Material Powder for Gut Health Supplements and Functional Food Manufacturing

Key Features

Bifidobacterium bifidum for Relieving Constipation, Fermented Food and Probiotic Preparation Prepared Therefrom. Isolated from healthy females, deposit number GDMCC No. 61482, an early‑life probiotic strain.

Bifidobacterium bifidum CCFM1167 promotes motilin secretion, improves digestion and absorption, and modulates intestinal peristalsis. It elevates faecal water content by down‑regulating aquaporin 3 (AQP3) expression in colonic tissue, and alleviates constipation by increasing faecal levels of acetic acid, isobutyric acid and valeric acid. It effectively shortens the time to first black stool, improves intestinal propulsion rate and faecal water content in constipated mice. Combined with strain 760, it delivers comprehensive constipation‑relieving effects via distinct mechanisms.

It significantly boosts faecal water content and intestinal propulsion. In constipated mice, faecal water content reaches 112.45 % of the control group, with the time to first black stool reduced by 1.32 %. Compared with strain GDMCC No.60941 (normalized against model group), this strain increases motilin level by 28.63 % and small‑intestinal propulsion rate by 71.0 %. It up‑regulates serum motilin (MTL) and down‑regulates serum somatostatin (SS), restoring SS concentration toward healthy levels (8.15 % lower than control mice). It markedly raises acetic‑, propionic‑ and butyric‑acid levels in caecal contents, down‑regulates aquaporin 8 (AQP8) gene expression and up‑regulates stem‑cell‑factor receptor (C‑kit) gene expression in colon tissue, and greatly enriches faecal Bifidobacterium abundance.

Moreover, Bifidobacterium bifidum CCFM1167 shows superior performance over phenolphthalein drugs in improving faecal water content, small‑intestinal propulsion rate, MTL and SS levels. It helps prevent constipation and may assist constipated subjects in gradually avoiding side‑effects and limitations caused by pharmaceutical treatments.
